High-strength aluminum alloy. This material is heat treatable, has excellent fatigue resistance, and good strength-to-weight ratio. 2024 is commonly used with an anodized finish or in the "clad" form. Clad material has a thin surface layer of high-purity aluminium for corrosion resistance.

- 1/8" - 8" (3mm - 203 mm) round; /14" - 4" (6mm - 102mm) square; 3/16" - 3" (5mm - 76mm) hex; 1/8" x 1/2" - 3" x 6" (3mm x 13mm - 76mm x 152mm) flat
- Machinability:
- For the T4 condition, 90%
- Weldability:
- Spot, seam or flash welding recommended

- Easily forming in the annealed condition
